008 – Al Anfaal – Spoils of WarThe chapter begins with the just distribution of the spoils of war, the assistance of angels and the will of Allah in determining victory at the Battle of Badr, which is the major theme of this chapter.
Verses 2-4 and 72-75 highlight the attributes of true believers and their recompense.
Obedience to Allah and His Messenger and the behaviour of those who plotted against the Prophet is highlighted.
Verse 41 focuses on khums
The chapter continues with the challenges and trials of the Battle of Badr and guidelines for dealing with the captives as well as the observation of treatise.
The last part of the chapter addresses the relationship between those who had migrated from Makka and those who assisted them in Madina, outlining their responsibilities towards each other.
