“Say, ‘I have no control over any benefit for myself nor any harm except what Allah may wish…” 10:49
Sometimes it is distress and pain that assist the human being to recognise their strengths of perseverance, bravery and steadfastness
All of us love to live in a society where there is law enforcement or a governing authority. When an individual is free to do whatever they prefer, there is anarchy and harm to human beings such as if people were allowed to drive on roads at whatever speed they wanted. Similarly, Allah is the ruling governing body over this world and the hereafter and punishment is for those who cross the line and cause harm.
Evil exists because Allah has given human beings free will and they can choose evil or good. Because evil exists, good has the opportunity to show its glory. Evil is the shadow of good and shows the reality and brightness of good.
If there was no such thing as a disease, how could a cure show its awesome healing properties?
If there was no war, how could peacemakers show their steadfastness, kindness, and love?
If there was no Yazid, how would we have seen the awesomeness of Imam Husayn (pbuh) and Sayyida Zaynab (pbuh)?
