81 AL MUNTAQIM – THE AVENGER

THE ONE WHO RECTIFIES (PUTS RIGHT). ALLAH PUTS AN END TO THE CRUELTY AND INJUSTICE OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WARNED TO STOP BUT CONTINUE IN TYRANNISING OTHERS.

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ ذُكِّرَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا ۚ إِنَّا مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنْتَقِمُونَ
“Who is a greater wrongdoer than him who is reminded of his Master’s signs, and he disregards them?  Indeed, We shall avenge the guilty.” 32:22

Al Muntaqim is he who combats the human beings selfishness, arrogance, prejudice, racism, etc. and all that which harms others.

If we continue to do injustice and hurt the innocent, the consequences will come back to us, either in this life or the next. Al Muntaqim has made the universe as such for our own good so we realise the consequences of our actions.
The avenging is against our own selfishness and persistence in injustice.

Al Muntaqim is all about accountability. When we are selfish and unjust, we are really punishing ourselves. Our selfishness makes us support oppression and exploitation and it is Al Muntaqim who is the avenging campaign against our ego and making it stop seeing itself as the centre of the universe.

Recite Yaa Muntaqim frequently when inflicted by suffering from a tyrannical person.
