80 AL TAWWAAB – ACCEPTOR OF REPENTANCE

THE ONE WHO FORGIVES REPEATEDLY AND ACCEPTS RETURN FROM WRONGDOING AGAIN AND AGAIN.

“Indeed He is the Acceptor of Repentance the Extra Kind to Believers.”  2:37

Al Tawwaab continues to accept repentance time and time again.

The first duo (prayer) that human beings made was of forgiveness. Prophet Adam (pbuh) and Sayyida Hawwa said
“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves! If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.’” 7:23

Allah responded to their due by forgiving them (2:37)

Repentance and forgiveness is what Divinity wishes us to do. To return to Him again and again and again.

‘Tawba’means return and it therefore points to the fact that at every moment we have the means to turn to Him and reach our full potential.

REFLECTION

“Say!‘O My servants who have transgressed against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, He is the All-forgiving, the extra kind to believers.”  39:53

No one is too imperfect or not redeemable with Al Tawwaab.

The Japanese art of kintsugi teaches that broken objects can be celebrated by being repaired. Kintsugi literally golden (“kin”) and repair (“tsugi”). When something breaks, it is put together with a precious metal, enhancing its beauty.

Our ‘breakages’ make us unique. The beauty in our imperfections are enhanced by ‘tawba’ (repentance).

BENEFITS OF RECITATION

Recite Yaa Tawwaab frequently for repentance to be accepted.

(The sign of accepted repentance is that one does not return to the sin again and its recollection leaves one’s memory).
