اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
Allah—there is no god except Him—He is the Eternal, the Self Existing… 2:255
Al Qayyum is the totally Reliable Supporter.
Just as Al Hayy occupies a high position, so does Al Qayyum.
The Arabic word Qayyum is related to Qiyaam which is the standing position in salaa (prayers). When we stand in salaa it is apt to know that we are being supported by Al Qayyum.
Al Qayyum gives a sense of total dependance.
Just like the navel which reminds us how we were supported in our mothers womb by the umbilical cord.
Recite Yaa Qayyum frequently for assistance in memory retention and to overcome laziness.
Recite Yaa Hayyul Qayyum together to make the impossible possible.
