53 AL QAWIYY – THE STRONG

ONE WHOSE STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE IS UNLIMITED AND INEXHAUSTIBLE. THE ULTIMATE AND INFINITE ALL POWERFUL ONE WHO POSSESSES ALL STRENGTH.

اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ
Allah is Subtle (totally attentive to every detail) to His servants. He provides for whomever He wishes, and He is the Strong, the Incomparable. 42:19

The intensity of the strength, capacity and power of Al Qawiyy enables us to offer Him the weight of the world on our shoulders knowing He will be the strength to carry our burdens.

Al Qawiyy shows us the smallness of everything and everyone in the universe in the face of the Divine. Our strength comes from Him and Him alone.

Imam Husayn (pbuh) on the day of Ashura said:
لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
“There is no strength nor power except with Allah, the Most High, The Awesome”

“The strong man is not the one who wrestles others but rather the one who controls himself when he is angry.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Recite Yaa Qawiyy frequently to have the strength to carry burdens, overcome anger and negative influences.
