50 AL SHAHEED – THE WITNESS

HE WHO WITNESSES ALL (EVEN AN ATOMS WORTH) THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE AT ALL TIMES AS THEY TRULY ARE.

سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
“Soon We shall show them Our signs in the horizons and in their own souls until it becomes clear to them that He is the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Master is Witness to all things? “ 41:53

Everything bears witness to His creation. Ash Shaheed transforms us into witnesses and makes us aware of the Divine Presence.

The words Tashahhud and Shahaada (witnessing the truth)
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لّآ  اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُوْلُهُ 
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
 (I bear witness that there is no god except Allah, the only One and there is no partner for Him, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger. O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and his ahlulbayt).

The Tashahhud is the Muslims’s testimony of of faith. When a person verbalises the shahada even without any witnesses, Allah is their Witness and they are Muslims.

عَبْدِي اَطِعْنِي فَجَعَلَكَ مَثَلِي
اَنَا حَيٌّ لَا اَمُوْت فَجَعَلَكَ حَيٌّ لَا تَمُوْت
“My servant, Obey Me,
I will make you like Me,
I Live, never to die,
I shall make you live, never to die.” Hadith Qudsi

Ash Shaheed makes us into witnesses by making us aware of The Divine Presence giving us the opportunity to be immortal by obeying Him and serving His creation.

Recite YAA SHAHEED frequently to dispel bad habits, and open the heart to light and understanding.
