48 AL MAJEED – THE GLORIOUS

ONE WHO IS EXCEEDINGLY GENEROUS, HAS UNFATHOMABLE NOBILITY AND IS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. AL MAJEED BRINGS INTO OUR LIVES MOMENTS THAT BRING AMAZEMENT AND BLISS TO THE HEART.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AL MAJEED AND AL MAAJID (65) IS THAT AL MAJEED SIGNIFIES EXTENSIVENESS WHILST AL MAAJID IS PARTICULAR TO SPECIFIC DEEDS.

 

رَحْمَتُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ ۚ إِنَّهُ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Allah’s mercy and His blessings upon you, O people of the house Indeed He is The Praiseworthy, The Glorious. 11:73

Angel visited Prophet Ibraheem (pbuh) and his wife Sara. They gave the news of a son to them (Sara was in her nineties). The angels referred to Allah as Al Majeed who made the impossible possible.

ق ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ
Qaaf! I swear by the glorious Quran. 50:1

Divinity calls the Quran Al Majeed. Just as Al Majeed makes the impossible possible, the Qur’an being a miracle in itself. Its language, its effect on the heart and soul, and its preservation (every dot and line). It is a reminder that if we want to witness the miracle of Al Majeed we only need to open the Qur’an.

REFLECTION

Al-Majeed means Allah is above all limitations, there are no obstacles to His decree, no matter how impossible it seems in our eyes. So when we do du’a, we should know that Allah can make miracles happen.
