33 AL AZHEEM – THE AWESOME

THE ONE WHOSE AWESOMENESS IS PERFECTION PERSE. HE IS AWESOME (PERFECT) IN EVERT ATTRIBUTE.

“So declare the Perfection of the name of your Master, The Awesome” 56:96

Al Azheem comes from the same root word as making bones stronger. His Awesomeness is felt in the ‘bones’ – our very foundation. His Awesomeness carries ‘weight’.

“So declare the Perfection of the name of your Master, The Awesome” 56:96

When the aya was revealed – The Prophet (pbuh) said “Put it Into your rukoo”.
Thus we recite:
I declare the Perfection of my Master, The Awesome and I praise Him.

His Awesomeness makes us bow in awe of Him.

REFLECTION

Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled [and] crumble in awe of Allah. We draw such comparisons for human beings so that they may reflect. 59:21

‘I asked Allah for strength and Allah gave me difficulties to make me strong,
I asked Allah for wisdom and Allah gave me problems to solve,
I asked Allah for courage and Allah gave me obstacles to overcome,
I asked Allah for love and Allah gave me troubled people to help,
I asked Allah for favours and Allah gave me opportunities….”
