وَٱللَّهُ يَقْبِضُ وَيَبْصُۜطُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ…….
“…And Allah constricts and expands and to Him you shall be brought back.” 2:245
Al Baasit is the One Who amplifies and makes the heart expand, overflowing with happiness and high spirits.
The Arabic word for carpet is bisaat which comes from the same root. If we reflect on all the threads that interlink to make the carpet, we can understand the connectedness to everything when there is expansion – to rise up in the air like a flying carpet Bisaat Ar Ruh (the carpet of the soul). Al Baasit blows away sorrows and worries.
Al Baasit also means to please.
The Prophet (pbuh) aid: “Fatima is part of me whatever pleases her pleases me, whatever displeases her displeases me” and the word he used was Bast.
Al Baasit is the one who pleases the souls by making them happy or delighted.
Recite YAA BAASIT to attain peace of heart and be independent of others.
