03 AL MALIK – THE ABSOLUTE OWNER

THE ABSOLUTE OWNER WHO HAS COMPLETE CONTROL. NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION.

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah, the King, the Holy, the Mighty, the Wise. 62:1

Sometimes translated as The Sovereign which means a king, Queen or a Leader who rules over people. Allah rules over everything and has total control. Every creation is subject to Divinity whether it recognises it or not.

Between Al Falaq and Al Naas there are 5 ‘sharrs’ (evils – that which cause harm) from which protection is sought.
Here the most deadly of them is mentioned – ‘was was’ – subtle negative whisperings by Shaytaan
Refuge is sought from these in Allah – the names Rabb (Master) KING (Absolute owner)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men,
مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ
The King of men,
إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ
The god of men,
مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ
From the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Shaytaan)

REFLECTION

We are often so engrossed in what we own and what we want to own that we forget that we are owned by Al Malik and that the one who looks into a mirror does not even own its reflection.
