وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ
..And Indeed Allah is The Most High, The Great.” 22:62
No matter what one is going through, Allah is Greater than it. Thus the Kabeer (big) problem becomes sagheer (small) because there is Al Kabeer to solve it.
From this attribute and the attribute of Al Mutakabbir(19) comes the command to magnify Him through Takbeer (Allahu Akber) – Allah is Greater than anything or anyone (greater than whatever can be encompassed by any human comprehension, understanding or vision.
اَللهُ اَكْبَر
Allah is Greater than anything or anyone.
The most repeated phrase in the day of a Muslim. Throughout the 5 daily prayers and in the tasbee of Sayyida Fatima (pbuh). It is a statement derived from Al Kabeer and initiates the salaa so one’s mind is not occupied by anyone or anything but Him, nor will the heart be attached to anyone or anything but Him.
One of the earliest commandments in the Qur’an is
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ
Announce the greatness of your Master 74:3
وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِىْرًا
Announce His limitless Greatness! 17:111
اَللهُ اَكْبَر
Allah is Greater than anything or anyone.
Allahu Akber is the first phrase we hear when we enter the world. It is a phrase to be repeated on every occasion – difficult or happy.
Greatness belongs to Al Kabeer alone.
